This video is a bit long, but it's worth the wait to see the ending. This is probably one of the cooler things I've seen in a while. Considering that the cost of the equipment used in this demo is fairly low and he's using off the shelf parts with nothing exotic would make this pretty impressive if developers were able to incorporate this kind of data into their games. As games become hyper-realistic at insane amounts of resolution, the trend seems to slide back towards cell-shading. Taste, it seems lis like a radio station, in that after many different genre's and looks are created, eventually you come back to what was once popular. I think this bit of increased interactivity will significantly add to the immersive qualities of games. This guy has some interesting projects on his webpage. I think the $14 Steadycam is a winner. |
