Here are some funny excuses I've heard over the years. I don't care what your excuse is, I only care that you get the work done. Don't be one of these people.

These are all pretty amusing, Some of these are cut from emails, the rest were said to me in person.

"I apologize for being unable to attend the previous class dates, but I have been very ill as of late - along with being misdiagnosed (gee, I wonder how that happened), I have been having trouble at home, and with my previous absences, you can see how well that turned out."

"I've got an ear infection that is kicking my butt so I will not be in class tonight. I was unable to finish tonight's assignment because of it, so I will not be attaching it with this e-mail."

"Hopefully I pass the class, I know it might seem that I haven't been trying but shits been hectic, but Im cool now. "

"My tablet isn't working so the comp's really bad. "

"You knew I couldn't finish the final because of my emotional problems!"

"Can I leave class early? I have to go do sex."

"I couldn't do my painting homework because I didn't have paint."

"i dont understand. how i could still get a f?. i didnt miss more then the 8 days allowed for class?"

"I am sorry for being asbsent these pass 2 weeks. Had a Mild Family Crisis."

"I was just made aware that I recieved an F for midterm. Can I still pass the class? If I turn in every assignment from here on out and the sketchbook with 200 drawings, attend the rest of the classes?!?!? Let me know what I can do! I know my behavior lately hasn't been 100%, but I am changing that! I am to graduate this quarter."

"Here's my project that was due yesterday. I am very disappointed with it. I tried using the markers on vellum with alcohol and it was a nightmare. I won't be using that method again! I found it very difficult to control and I think it looks terrible too. Not an acceptable outcome considering the time I put into it (and believe me, I just don't have time to waste these days). Oh well, I didn't plan on being an illustrator anyway and the less I have to draw people the happier I'll be. "

"Sheff, my photoshop won’t work."

"I have some homework to turn in. I will also attempt to try your final exam. I have spoken to the Dean and made sure that I was not dropped from the class. " (This person missed 9 classes and expected to pass with a D.)

"I am running behind on another assignment, so there is no time to do these over. "

"I know it's a little late, but I wanted to appologize for missing your class tonight. I was having a bad earache so I went and saw the Dr."

"You have to understand Sheff, the best I can do is NIBBLE on everything. Because I am not yet good at MULTI-TASKING, and it will not happen with the snap of your fingers. "

"Sorry I'm late, I fell asleep on the recliner."(This student was over 2 hours late for the final.)

I did all 200 pages but I left my sketchbook on the bus.

My whole sketch book was confiscated for a investigation and i was unable to turn it in to you. (This student slept in life drawing but balanced himself on his pencil to make it look like he was working.)

I feel like I'm being forced to draw.

I couldn't afford paper.(I hear this one a lot)

I couldn't find any paper. (A close second)
